Thanks to Dioxine for incorporating it into the main mod. ๐
(Mud&Camo) from Ex-Peasantz added in + a new brimmed hat version of Shepherd.
I did ALL what I planned. Well, almost.
At the start I was enthusiastic about remodeling mud armor's paperdolls, but as time passed, I came to a conclusion that it would be okay to leave them untouched. Original peasant models are still visible there and I think it’s not a bad thing. Anyway, it WOULD have been fun to draw muddy peasants with leafy branches sticking out and moss lumps here and there... but no, because it ALSO would take that time and effort what I currently need somewhere else and that's the real reason why to move on. If the original Mud is still there after years and years, I may roll up my sleeves and finish the job!
So, maybe it's:
Au revoir, Peasantz!
Edit: Ah, Dioxine already did dem ๐
Noice, I managed to release my first ever custom extraSprite item for Stuffiez. It replaces reused Doge's body sprite for the ๐Guard Dog๐ and looks more like that beast in the spritesheet. I'm happy about it OK.
Bugeye – remodeled - bam! This was on my constantly growing to-do list for half a year, but I’m glad I gave him/her/it a proper thought-out and didn't redesign all the sprites as I first planned. A guy who wears a leather jacket with work coveralls gotta be a character in post apocalyptic fiction. ๐
What I did was only minor cleaning and polishing at best. What rly matters and makes a true improvement - is the remodeled Mutant Egg!
Academy Nurse / Researcher / Academy Medic / Osiron Yeoman
Added more contrast, details and a polished touch ✨๐
Attack Dog edited to a bit more for isometric perspective
with some minor polishing and detailing.
Sawed-off redesign based to an antique shotgun model. This should have a custom item object and not to oversprite the Mad Max weapon.
Cutlass flipped horizontally and redesigned.
Black Adder Shiny Niner Police Revolver Silver Snake
OK, all my proposed handgun sprites for Ol' School Stuffiez (v1.0) are now included.
Just to clarify: Ol’ School Stuffiez is a part of the Stuffiez project to modify all obvious items from the present day to look more authentic in Piratez, so it would seem that some types of basic and simple item models have existed nearly as such almost 600 years.
Real images vs rendered sprites
A request idea: Give old Mosin-Nagant rifle to bandits and a 'new' remastered model of WW2 Mauser to humanists -> The best bolt-action rifle back in the future!
Ol' Revolver / Rusty Niner / Machete / Bayoneted Rifle
These are my first weapon modding experiments. I was supposed to just quick draw one realistic Glock pistol, but then ended up modifying and remodelling a bunch of original sprites. Oh well.
Hunting Rifle / Scoped Rifle / Sniper Rifle
I'm not yet completely sure whether these kind of designs fit into Xpiratez/Xcom style or not, but I think I'll keep them coming at least for my personal use, because... um, maybe that's how I like to roll. ๐๐จ
Less or more sneaky; comes now in flip-flops
Once again it was fun to modify original artwork. Nothing extra special, although something alright. I think she is an interesting character...
XPiratez feels so fine Yarr, no need for improved gfx, Capn'! ๐ that I've been playfully pondered creating concepts to an enormous feature addition: WASTELAND STRONGHOLDS, because it would be fun to own small pirate forts for a start, maybe just to see them being annihilated by some nasty creatures.
Same feature could enable an option to take control of some special mission areas afterwards and have their establishments as researchable booty or to manufacture stuff or train hands or whatever. Or maybe I should just make a comic out of this.
Vaults and tunnels would still be the best for the underground pirates' main campaign, besides being the mod's core idea, they are hard to spot and actual shelters. When playing on higher difficulties, it would be impossible to protect any noteworthy fort without smart power strategies and pricey hi-tech defence systems. However, some systems should always be simpler and more economically wise to be ground-based.
There was/is one tile, it looks like an industrial-sized microwave oven, which I would edit for my personal use to be a washing machine, so merry inhabitants over there could wash their six pixel underwear. Biggest of small modifications anyhow'sly happened to that same FRUNITURE [sic] terrain, but it seems that old LOFTs can handle the minor changes in size, keeping then these PCKs good pals with original MCDs.

Modding assets ftw! I have now walked into this futuristic Hell on Earth in baby steps via quite boring and generic route/choice. My first custom OpenXcom terrain-tileset eva shall be called Nightcity69 and remembered as a HUGE megalopolis project with skyscrapers and shit. You gotta start from somewhere, eh? So first in line was a basic street set to be used as floor - the rock bottom connecting all together, then maybe some multifloor buildings will follow.
NC69_STREET terrain set contains only basic tiles, 40 of them, to build streets with lamps and pavings, crosswalks around crossroads with traffic lights and parking lots covered with roadblocks made of concrete. Of course there should be more objects to give units a feel of protection. Trash cans! Yes, when a bad guy shoots at you something smaller than a rocket, take cover behind a trash can. That's a survival tactic of urban warfare rule 41.
I can’t say the set is perfect and ready-out-of-the-box. I haven’t tested the MCD in the battlescape and even if I had, the modder should anyhow adjust (now directional) values, placements and maybe even colors to fit his/her own mod.

First Piratez inventory image edits. Tried my best to keep the original designs, so I concentrated just on polishing and adding some/more details. There might be one or two extra colors. Made these also as Bootypedia images.
DIY lore: Balling players fight in small teams, playing their own violent tactical sport events here and there. Many say that they are overly-competitive. Don’t take them too seriously, they say, you don’t have to be a fan of balling, it’s just for sport.
But once a year balling teams gather to battle for the League of Wrecking Balls final match. The winner gains control over their main area - Stools.
Good maps always contains at least one special support unit along the main mob, so the baller side could have giant mascots. The Coach should be their officer.
(Somebody should draw sporty shorts under the penis cup protector for the final version)
OpenXcom/forum has these quiet topics HERE+HERE for my submod projects. Polished sprites which went into the XPZ can be found only from this blog.
ATM I'm working on a new kind of colorful saturday morning cartoons style assets for a custom campaign mod - and hopefully will get to show them someday ๐
If you have anything to say or ask in general, you can do it here, in the comments๐
Lately I've been thinking about terrains, because it'd be cool to replace some of the polished ones with so-called rough XPZ ...
